• Coordinates, prepares, and develops, EEOC statements, briefing materials, and reports concerning legislation to be submitted to congressional offices, the Office of Management and Budget, and other government officials.
• Contributes to the preparation of analysis and commentary on legislative developments that may impact the EEOC, its mission, and mission-related responsibilities.
• Conducts briefings, seminars, and exhibits about the EEOC's work.
• Coordinates, drafts, and reviews responses to constituent inquiries referred by the White House and Members of Congress.
• Assists in the development of briefing materials, hearing preparation materials, and other background documents to prepare agency leadership and staff for congressional hearings and engagements with Members of Congress and their staff.
• Serves as a policy advisor to the Legislative Affairs Director/Principal Legislative Affairs Director by rendering advice regarding Title VII, the Equal Pay Act, ADEA, Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Provides advice to the Legislative Affairs Director and Principal Legislative Affairs Director regarding the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, and other policies governing equal employment opportunity.

Qualifications

For the GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: providing advice and assistance to office personnel in implementing legislative affairs and congressional correspondence programs; preparing briefing materials, reports, or publications concerning congressional activities and the laws administered by the organization; preparing written and verbal responses to complex congressional inquiries for the director's approval.
