The Philadelphia City Commissioners are a three-member bipartisan board of elected officials in charge of elections and voter registration for the City of Philadelphia. The City of Philadelphia is the sixth-largest city in the United States and one of the largest employers in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Position Description
The Deputy Executive Directors will serve as key members of the administration team, overseeing, through subordinate supervisors and staff, the County Board of Elections and Voter Registration programs. The Deputy Executive Directors will report to the Executive Director of the Board of City Commissioners. The Deputy Executive Directors are responsible for managing, directing, and supervising (through subordinate managers and/or supervisors) the activities of subordinate clerical and technical staff in order to meet election deadlines, conduct voter registration, and hold elections in accordance with federal and state election laws. The Deputy Executive Directors will develop and implement metrics to track the effectiveness, accuracy, and efficiency of civil service staff in performing their duties and report back to the Executive Director regarding these metrics on a regular basis. Each Deputy Executive Director is responsible for their area of specialization.
During election times, this position will also require working some non-standard work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.
