The Elections Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of administrative, financial, and election operations for Lubbock County.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Advanced oral and written communication and presentation skills. Must be able to motivate and relate to people easily. Must be proficient in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications. Ability to adapt to new procedures and comprehend election laws. Valid TX driver's license required. Must be able to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during election cycles. Frequent local travel to polling locations required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of federal and state election regulations. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and organizational abilities. Ability to analyze and improve processes. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, maintain records, read and understand instructions, analyze and interpret data, spell and use correct grammar, prioritize and schedule work to meet deadlines, communicate effectively orally and in writing, work independently in the absence of specific instructions. Knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping processes. Bilingual skills preferred. Election experience preferred. Prior government or county experience preferred. Experience with election systems or voter databases preferred.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Maintain the ability to regularly stand, walk, kneel, and bend during the shift, Reach, grip and use fine dexterity, Push and pull objects, Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees, Occasionally lift and carry up to 30 pounds, Occasionally rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing, Place arms above, at or below shoulder height; Use of vision and depth perception, Ability to communicate clearly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
