ACR’s Government Relations Department is seeking a Congressional Affairs Director for its Washington DC office.  The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, dependable, and team-oriented player who has considerable healthcare policy and political experience preferably with membership organizations.  Capitol Hill and/or related agency experience a plus.  Some travel and public speaking opportunities will be available.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and monitor legislative and regulatory issues
  • Establish and maintaining relationships with congressional offices
  • Draft letters, articles, and advocacy materials
  • Attend meetings and congressional fund raisers
  • Deliver presentations at events/function and actively contribute in meetings
  • Ability to communicate complex policy initiatives to Congress and organizational leadership
  • Experienced and energized in working with PR teams to craft and share non‑partisan, informational social media content

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of related experience in governmental/congressional affairs
    • plus 2+ years in a healthcare membership organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possession of successful multitasking skills
  • Ability to travel

While working a hybrid schedule, qualified candidates will live in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area and maintain a flexible schedule of working around ACR's operating hours of 8:30A - 5:00P (EDT). When working remotely, workers must be self-motivated, possess excellent time management, and be highly organized.  Reliable internet connection is a must!

ACR is committed to a total rewards compensation philosophy that includes base salary in addition to our full suite of comprehensive benefits.  ACR’s goal is to pay competitively and equitably.  It is typical for individuals to be hired in the entry to middle of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on each case’s circumstances.  A reasonable estimate of the annual compensation range for this position is $132,950 – $186,150.
