The Healthcare Government Relations and Public Policy intern works primarily with Joint Commission’s Government Relations office in Washington, DC. The intern will assist government relations staff with specific projects related to federal healthcare policies, healthcare legislation, and Joint Commission priorities (with some exposure to state-focused work). Interns will work out of Joint Commission’s Washington D.C. office and attend in-person events in the area.
The Healthcare Government Relations and Public Policy internship offers students the opportunity to build and strengthen skills particularly in research, analysis, and writing. In addition, the internship provides an opportunity for the student to gain an understanding of how healthcare organizations and other stakeholders promote healthcare policies, build relationships with executive branch officials, and interact with legislators.
The internship is an eight-week program beginning June 1, 2026. The position will be paid hourly, commensurate with experience ($18.00/hr for current undergraduate hires, $20.00/hr for current graduate students).
