The Christian Business Partnership’s Legislative Liaison works for the Executive Director of The

Partnership in serving as Christian business owners’ lead voice at the Ohio Statehouse and with

lawmakers. His or her mission is to vigorously champion the religious freedom of Christian

business owners while fostering a robust and open marketplace where innovation and

competition allow every entrepreneur to succeed. Professional, personable, highly-organized,

and deeply passionate about the Gospel and The Partnership’s mission, the Legislative Liaison

plays an essential role in serving Christian business owners in Ohio.


Reports to: Christian Business Partnership Executive Director

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Compensation: Full-time, Salaried/Exempt

Location: CCV Office in Columbus, Ohio, with Occasional Statewide Travel

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead The Partnership’s efforts to advance legislative priorities at the Ohio Statehouse.
  • Prepare and give legislative testimony in support of bills on The Partnership’s legislative agenda or in opposition to bills that undermine our mission.
  • Stay “in-the-know” about issues facing Ohio’s communities, and especially Christianowned businesses.
  • Conduct legislative research including reviewing legislation & amendments introduced in the General Assembly for impact on The Partnership’s issues.
  • Draft Fact Sheets on The Partnership’s primary bills.
  • Present The Partnership’s mission and information on issues at public speaking engagements and with the media.
  • Provide periodic analysis and reports for management.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications & Requirements

Skills and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in policy-related field and knowledge of Ohio legislative process preferred.
  • Strong research skills as well as proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attentive to detail and well organized.
  • Strong time management skills, punctual, able to operate on a schedule, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexible to accommodate shifting priorities.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking, fast-paced work environment.
  • Self-motivated daily by a passion to see The Partnership's work advance.
  • Able to be proactive and strive to close gaps in skill and knowledge.
  • Proficient in Google, Microsoft programs, and CRM database.


Character and Spiritual

  • Mature Christian, currently attending or pursuing attendance in a local church.
  • Agreement with and adherence to CCV’s Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrated commitment to CCV’s mission and position on Core Issues.
  • Ability to work discreetly with confidential information.
  • Trustworthy, responsible, tactful, diplomatic, and focused on building consensus rather than emphasizing differences.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism focused on client/constituent relationships.
