DescriptionWe are seeking a Communications & Civic Engagement Intern to support our communications team. This internship offers hands-on exposure to civic communications, program planning, and civic engagement within a nonpartisan election environment.
The role will be up to 20 hours per week at $18 per hour. Hours are flexible but must be between 9AM-5PM.
We hope to begin the role by May 1st 2026 and for the role to continue through August 2026.
This role is open to students currently attending University of Maryland.
What You’ll Do (With Supervision & Collaboration)
- Assist with research civic engagement
- Support drafting of outreach materials, website copy, and internal planning documents
- Help organize project notes, timelines, and background materials
- Assist with content creation for digital communications
- Support outreach tracking and stakeholder coordination
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and communications planning meetings
- Support social media monitoring to understand current discussions on elections
RequirementsWhat We’re Looking For
