The North Carolina General Assembly is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, outgoing, and flexible Office Assistant to provide administrative front office support to numerous Legislative offices (nonpartisan and partisan). The primary responsibility of the Office Assistant is to provide office and clerical support as needed to various partisan and nonpartisan offices, ensuring efficient operation and workflow of the office.
Job responsibilities may include the following:
The Office Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Office, the Legislative Assistant Director’s Office, or under individual division or office management authorities. The work schedule is consistently 40 hours per week, typically between the hours of 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., but may vary given the office location, Monday through Friday. The position also requires the ability to be extremely flexible, occasionally working extended hours and weekends to meet the needs of the legislative session.

Ability to work independently in an office, prioritize tasks, organize and analyze materials, and make responsible decisions.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Required Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate, plus at least two years of related office administrative experience.
