What You Will Be Doing

  • Serve as the Department of Administration's legislative liaison, coordinating communications with the Governor's Office, Legislature, executive leadership, and state agencies.
  • Track and analyze legislation; review fiscal notes, bill analyses, testimony, and other legislative materials to support executive decision-making.
  • Conduct research, gather and analyze information, and coordinate special projects to provide recommendations on department initiatives, policy issues, and emerging concerns.
  • Coordinate timely responses to inquires from elected officials, government agencies, stockholders, and the public, ensuring clear and effective communication.

The Working Environment You Can Expect 

This position is being recruited as a dual location recruitment and can be in either Juneau or Anchorage. In Juneau we are located on the 10th floor of the State Office Building (known locally as the SOB) in beautiful, historic downtown Juneau, Alaska. Enjoy an office window with spectacular views of Douglas Island and Gastineau Channel. In Anchorage we are located on the 19th floor of the Atwood Building. The incumbent can expect daily interaction with the division staff and frequent interaction other State of Alaska staff located throughout the state via teleconference, TEAMS, and in person.

Minimum Qualifications

Positions in this job class are in the partially exempt service in accordance with AS 39.25.120(c)(6).
