Poll Worker Training: Training Assistant



The County of San Diego Registrar of Voters is seeking qualified individuals to fill temporary positions in the Poll Worker Training section for the June 2, 2026, Primary Election.


Training assistants are responsible for helping support the Poll Worker Training Program by managing daily office tasks such as assembling printed training materials into packets, organizing files, data entry and quality control of office supplies.

Successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism, patience, and integrity while working as part of a team. Strong communication skills and non-partisan conduct are essential.

This recruitment is open continuously and can close at any time once the business needs of the department have been met. Please apply immediately.

Schedule:

  • Typical hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (may vary based on operational needs)
  • Overtime required leading up to and during the election.
  • Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends.
  • Limited time off during the election cycle.

General Skills/ Abilities:

  • Arrive on time and maintain a professional appearance in accordance with dress code.
  • Work within strict timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Work effectively in a team with respect, cooperation, and a positive attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, printers, office equipment, and safety practices.
  • Telephone skills/phone operation.
  • Able to handle high volume of incoming calls during elections.
  • Data entry proficiency. 
  • Work with minimal supervision.

  • Attention to detail.
  • Punctuality.


Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of safely lifting 30 pounds individually.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must wear employee badge and access card. 
  • Must follow all health and safety protocols.
  • Must represent the Registrar of Voters in a professional/non-partisan manner.
  • Provide a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance upon hire.


Working Conditions

  • Office/Warehouse environment.
  • Frequent computer use.
