This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Legislative Publications Office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the direct supervision of supervisors and staff in the graphics, prepress, press, bindery, digital, mail and data departments of the Legislative Publications Office
Assume duties of absent managers
Assist department supervisors with personnel matters
Ensure department staff adheres to and follows Caucus policy
Conduct performance reviews with department managers
Maintain a solid internal working relationship with the office of the Chief Clerk, Legislative Communications Office, Office of Financial Management, Human Resources and Democratic Information Technologies
Maintain a solid external working relationship with numerous outside vendors for consumables, sales, service and software
Review incoming publication and mail requests and provide final print production approval
Perform monthly mail and expense audits
Assigning job priorities to supervisors and staff
Respond to email/phone inquiries from Members and staff regarding work request feasibility, timeframes and alternatives
Communicate with staff on job progress and ensure proper Member or staff is notified
Assist staff that may need additional help or guidance to meet deadlines
Serve as the timekeeper for the Legislative Publications Office
Direct and advise on action plans for equipment repair and technical issues
Conduct training seminars for new staff
Assist in reviewing and recommending equipment purchases, leases and contracts to the Chief Clerk
Advise and inform facilities manager of any building issues that require attention
Requires onsite management and support of team members, staff, and Members, especially during Session. Session essential employees must be physically present at the worksite on Session Days.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in related field and five years of related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of MS Office
Regularly required to lift or move up to 50 pounds
Knowledge of printing, graphics and mail procedures preferred
Knowledge of USPS regulations for pre-sort standard mail preferred
Knowledge of Bulk Mailer Business preferred
Ability to work overtime evenings and weekends as needed

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to elevated. Ear protection is provided and encouraged.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving parts and hot surfaces
Some mild chemical and odor exposure is present
Ability to work overtime evenings and weekends as needed
