Summary

Receives, maintains inventory of, and stores polling location supplies and forms. Coordinates with the Technology Resource Coordinator to determine the amount of supplies needed based upon the number of polling locations in the election as well as possible voter turnout.  Facilitates and creates the supply kits used during early voting and election day. Coordinates with the Help Desk and runners to get needed supplies to polling locations.  Supervises temporary staff during the assembly and distribution of supply kits for each election.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Reviews Texas Secretary of State website to obtain changes to forms, manuals, and procedures and meets with supervisor regarding any changes found.  Informs other areas when implementing new forms so they can update the poll worker and election worker training materials.
  2. Receives, maintains, inventories and determines how many supply kits will be needed for each election year.
  3. Supervises temporary workers in the assembly and loading of supply kits, supply bags, or election equipment containers.  Prepares supply kits, supply bags, or election equipment containers as needed.
  4. Verifies supply kits, supply bags, and election equipment containers are correct.
  5. Assists and supervises temporary workers during the election to make sure locations receive the supplies they request, and the appropriate Elections area receives completed forms.
  6. Under the direction of the Technology Resource Coordinator, conducts public testing of the voting equipment by verifying and validating every possible combination of election outcome on each piece of voting equipment.
  7. Packages and tracks used and unused ballots after the election for Secretary of State mandated retention period.
  8. Compiles contracts, insurance documentation, and driver assignments for rental vans and trucks.
  9. Performs all other related duties.

Minimum Requirements

NOTE: You must fill out the work history and education sections of application to show you have years of experience/education as required by hiring department or be disqualified.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.  

  • Two (2) full-time years of clerical experience.  Administrative and elections experience is preferred.

  • Valid and current driver license.  

  • Must be eligible and able to obtain forklift certification upon hire.  

  • Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and similar software. 

  • Organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  

  • Able to clearly communicate goals and objectives.


If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing


Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudication in the past seven years and may include financial history reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, carry, climb, climb ladders, climb stairs, grasp/squeeze, hear, keyboard, kneel, lift below the waist, lift between waist and shoulder, lift overhead, lift to the side/twist, use material handling equipment, tolerate hot and cold outside temperatures, pull, push, reach, reach overhead, perform repetitive tasks, see far, see near, sit, squat, stand, stoop, talk, twist, use his/her hands, drive a vehicle, walk, walk on an incline, work with others, and work overtime.
